If "going green" is important to you look for a florist that specializes in organic. Look for a florist that purchases their flowers close to home from local gardeners. Many of these local gardeners carry many varieties that the wholesalers do. And if often will save you some money as a side benefit.

Very cool idea! I wish I would have thought of this!
If you are feeling extra DIY, you can order from an organic supplier and put together your arrangements yourself. I wasn't quite this brave, so we opted for a florist who used an organic wholesaler!
