Easy. Start with an inspiration piece. It could be as simple as a color, or as complex as your Grandmother’s lace pattern on her tablecloth. A good designer will be able to direct you towards flowers and styles that enhance your theme. It is amazing how many complete themes have come into fruition by a single inspiration piece. Brides can actually walk away and have a good picture in their mind’s-eye of the finished product. Very exciting stuff!

This may sound crazy, but I developed my entire wedding theme around a perfume I liked at the time, Vera Wang's "Truly Pink." I imagined a decor to fit the mood of the perfume and created a wedding that was soft, sensual, elegant and romantic...all my flowers were heaps of roses and peonies ranging from off white to soft pink to fuchsia placed in delicate old fashioned silver urns and wreathed around fragrant candles.
My ENTIRE wedding was themed around a fall leaf. From that I got the colors of the bridesmaids dresses (burnt orange) and the complementary colors of chocolate brown and champagne. And I have a million (seriously, I think it was a million) leaves throughout my entire wedding.
