LOVE this. I love that the trends are trading. If I could choose now I would TOTALLY get cupcakes!
As a pastry chef, of course I love this idea. Something to remember, think about the style of wedding you are having. If you are doing a backyard DIY reception, bar cookies, ice cream, mini cupcakes. For a larger buffet, cream puffs, more detailed cakes, or petit fours and cupcakes are always welcome this is also a great style for fruit sculptures (kabobs and such). A sit down dinner is the domain of the pastry chef with formal plating that should include garnish (fruit, herbs, chocolate, sugar or cookies), sauce, dessert and design.
Regardless of your budget, this can be a wonderful way to really personalize your last course. Equally perfect: all of these go great with champaign!
