When deciding your wedding day look, accentuate your best features. Keep in mind you want to balance your appearance; if a bride has beautiful eyes, play up the eye make-up and have more subtle lips. Brides with glowing skin and great bone structure should use highlighting techniques to enhance this beauty. Have your make-up done professionally a few weeks prior to the big day.

This way you can see how the make-up looks in certain lighting and how long the make-up will last. Most importantly, forego current fashion “trends” and go for a classic look. When you look back on your wedding photos years from now you want to see a bride whose beauty is timeless.

I would add one little additional recommendation. Have someone (Mom, fiance, friend) take some snapshots of you just after the make-up try out. Make sure you are in similar light to what you are going to have on your wedding day (outside with bright sunlight, inside with romantic candlelight). This will give a hint as to how the make-up will look in photos.
It may feel like you have a lot of make-up on (particularly if you are going with false eye lashes), but you need to remember that you need to have dramatic make-up for pictures.
Having a make-up/hair specialist will really make you feel like a glamour girl on your big day.
Great ideas Leap Year Bride! I actually had three make-up trials and took pictures after all three!
