Fresh fruit can add a colorful, simple, edible garnish to a dessert display that complements the treats available!
Don't spend your time baking and frosting desserts for your best gal pal's bridal shower, consider these wedding cake inspired, frosted, sugar cookies from Cookie Connection for only $2/ or $21/dozen. These soft morsels will be a great complement to some bubbly or sparkling water adorned with raspberries. Mmm...
I love sweet treats! They are so fantastic! Our pal Carissa of Sugar and Spice and... is who we've asked to create our delicious dessert station for our wedding. She's also creating a small cake for us to cut as well as a surprise for our guests. I invited my best friend and MOH (Made of Honor, I don't love the term matron of honor) to attend the tasting with me. I knew Mr. Detonator would love whatever we chose and my MOH is taking baking classes so I knew she would enjoy the tasting, which she did! We both did! Carissa really outdid herself, although I know this is how she hosts all her tastings. We chose 8 fabulous petite desserts and a 1-tier cake for cutting. Here's a couple pics of what we were greeted with at our tasting!

This is the thoughtful care package that Carissa created for Mr. Detonator so he didn't miss all the sweetness! Check out some more of Carissa's amazing work over at The Memory Journalists blog!
When meeting with your baker or dessert designer, bring a list of you and your fiance's favorites sweets, treats and fruits. Also let them know if there are any that you don't like. This will help guide them in suggesting the best pastry cream, cake filling, frosting, etc.
Martha Stewart Weddings shared these fruit-flavored, flower-shaped candies pictured here. They are a traditional French treat called pates de fruits. These candies would make a delicious addition to any bridal shower in the event's colors.
When considering petite sweets as a dessert alternative to the traditional cake adding a monogram can really personalize this tasty treat. This monogram feature can really add some character to an otherwise uniform looking dessert.
A couple that really enjoys sweet treats may want to consider talking to their local ice cream or yogurt shoppe about having an ice cream station or an ice cream truck available. You could create a topping station for guests to create their own sweet masterpiece.
This is a great way to share your favorite treats and a little love. Your baker will have some great ideas on how to incorporate your color scheme into this sweet treat! You could send these lovely cupcakes home with your guests as a tasty favor.
Check out these cute cupcake wrappers that can really dress up the traditional paper display!
Tasty petite sweets make a fantastic display for reception desserts and can satisfy the palate of those with many different sweet cravings.
If you're thinking about sending your guests home with a tasty piece of cake, think about how you'll send them off. The cute presentation of the box will get them excited about the tasty treat inside.
Have you ever been to the fair and not ordered cotton candy? It's such a fun treat reminiscent of childhood fun. When we saw this rock candy spun with a shell of cotton candy, we just had to share! Yumm....
Looking to incorporate some child's play into your day that even the eldest adult will enjoy? What about a hot dog stand or ice cream/gelato served on your favorite waffle or sugar cone! You can add a condiments/topping bar with all the fixings to make it your own.

If you get nostalgic at the site of a twinkie, a ding dong or S'mores you may want to talk to your caterer or dessert specialist about remaking the timeless classics with some high quality ingredients.
If you can't decide on a cake flavor, create a dessert tree of many tiers with personal cakes with different flavors. Your guests could choose their personal favorite.
