Spotlight On Interview - Luxury Limousines of Sacramento

We were able to ask Ozzie with Luxury Limousines of Sacramento a few questions about his experience working with Luxx Limo and about what sets Luxury Limousines apart. Check it out! Be sure to check out their blog too, How We Roll to get to know them better and learn some things about transportation that you may not know! Our most popular car rented is… Our 15 passenger Hummer however, our new Party Bus is catching on quick!

My first job was… Driving Bill Murray and Sandy Jenkins co-owners at the time (no pressure).

The farthest we’ve traveled for a wedding party was… We often travel as far as Lake Tahoe for wedding receptions.

Driving a large vehicle is… A lot of fun and also a lot of responsibility.

The oddest request we’ve had… Probably going to a specific store at a shopping mall to purchase a specific model digital camera for some clients while they were at dinner.

The best thing about driving for weddings is… You get to help make this a special day and they will remember this day for the rest of their lives.

My favorite car is… Our 28 passenger Party Bus!

Our largest rental request was… We had a rental that lasted for a whole week about
10 – 12 hours per day.

My most unique customer was… A client out of N.Y. that stayed in Napa at Auberge De Soleil for several days along with his entire entourage. He was very specific on what he expected and made it very clear to me prior to the trip that he would not allow anything less than perfection, needless to say I received a very generous tip at the end of his stay.

The biggest trend in transportation right now is... A big focus is the green movement, and Luxury Limousines is proud to be one of only five Limousine companies in the nation to be selected into the EPA’s Climate Leader Program. We have teamed up with Green Ride Global the world’s leading transportation environmental consulting firm. In addition we offer Hybrid SUV’s to ensure your ride with us is always green.

Something people may not know about our services… We offer all inclusive rates, so the price you are quoted is the price you pay with no hidden fees or added surcharges.

The one thing you can never control as a driver is… Traffic, we always plan alternate routes and use state of the art navigation systems in all of our vehicles.

My first car was… Our first car was our 2005 Lincoln stretch, this vehicle is still in use and recently had the upholstery replaced and looks as good as our new vehicles.

The most extravagant service we offer is… We provide Champagne toast, red carpet treatment, as well as decorating the interior of the vehicle to match your wedding colors. We pride ourselves on our service and paying attention to details to make your big day special.

On my days off… I enjoy working out, hanging out with friends and family and just relaxing.

Tip - Look Into Large Party Transportation

Consider renting large party transportation to get your out of town guests from the hotel to the ceremony/reception. This allows guests to get to know each other, guarantees they'll be on time and makes sure that no one is drinking and driving.Photo courtesy of Luxury Limousines of Sacramento

Trend - Family Transportation

Many brides are offering limousine transportation to close family members in addition to the bridal party. To accommodate older or less mobile passengers, ask your limousine company about cars with a “fifth door”. A “fifth door” refers to vehicles that have an additional door towards the front of the vehicle on the right hand side (away from traffic). This added feature prevents family members from having to do the “sit and slide” all the way around the limousine bench. This feature is becoming more prevalent in recent years.

Tip - Make Sure To Preview Your Transportation

Make sure when you are booking a limousine service, you go and see their cars first. The way they maintain their vehicles will give you a good indication of how well they will take care of you!

Trend - Decorated Limousines

Many brides like to see their ‘get-away’ vehicle decorated with a “Just Married” sign, but some companies are taking it a step further. The interior of the limousines can be decorated in your wedding colors! What better way to start off the day in a very personal way!

Tip - Back Seat Driver

Make sure to provide guests with a ‘point-man’ in case they get lost on the way to the wedding – you never want them to be late, or even miss the event, because of a wrong turn. Try to appoint someone that is not part of the bridal party.Tip provided by Luxury Limousines

Trend - Limo Trial Runs

You know that you save when you buy in bulk - the same applies to limousine service! Many brides are booking with their limousine company for transportation to/from their wedding, rehearsal dinner, bachelor/ette parties, etc.
This gives you a chance to try out the company before your big day, and often times gets you a big discount that is unavailable when booking your wedding alone.

Tip - Prepare For the Unknown

Be careful when planning the schedule for the big day! Many brides fail to take the ‘unknowns’ into account – bad traffic, guests getting lost, or even a pair of shoes mistakenly left at home can cause large delays. If you plan some extra time into your schedule as a buffer, these things can be avoided.

Tip - Check for Hidden Fees

Don’t get caught by hidden fees!
Make sure you ask what is included when you get a quote from your limousine vendor.

Many brides have been taken aback when they ask for a ‘complete quote’, only to find out that extra fees and gratuity have not been included. Beware of any company charging tax – there is no sales tax on limousine service in the state of California.

Trend - Not Your Average Taxi

With the increase in wedding ceremonies and receptions taking place in one location, it may be hard to get a limousine company just for the time before the ceremony and after the reception (a split charge).

However, some brides and limousine companies are getting creative with the wedding packages. Some companies offer two packages with multiple cars which can be used on the wedding day, or for a separate event (such as the rehearsal dinner). Because of this flexibility, brides will often use one car in the morning to take the girls to the beauty salon before being taken to the ceremony, and then use the second car after the reception.

Or, if the location allows for it, brides will use the cars as a shuttle – the bride and bridesmaids are transported first, then the car goes to pick up the groom and groomsman, and sometimes will even make an additional trip to pick up guests. Then, after the reception, people are shuttled back home at scattered times.
