Some brides and grooms scoff at the idea of an early morning wedding because the tradition tends to lean towards late afternoon to early evening. Having your wedding in the morning hours can help save money at some venues who offer a price discount since this is not peak wedding hour. You could have fun with a morning time wedding offering a twist on the traditional reception menu. You could have a cappuccino station at the reception accompanying a light brunch meal with omelette stations, mini pancakes, lox with mini bagels, Bloody Marys and mimosas.Holding your wedding earlier in the day could allow for you to spend more time with out of town guests or family without feeling pressed for time. If your wedding party is more intimate, you could plan for an early evening activity like a stroll on the beach or a ferry ride.

My husband and I planned a morning brunch reception for our June wedding. We had a made to order omelette bar, carving station, breakfast meats, potatoes, fruit, variety of breakfast pastries, cold & warm lunch items. I loved how everything turned out - guests really enjoyed it too - thirteen years later guests are still talking about how great it was.
